Abstrak

The study aims to produce bioplastic and to know the effect of addition of MFC (Micro Fibrilated Cellulose) from bagasse (Sugar Cane Baggase) as filler. Effect of sorgum starch ratio - MFC with Variation of sorgum starch and MFC; 5: 5, 6: 4, 7: 3, 8: 2, 9: 1 and 10: 0 g / gr based on the total dry weight of the mixture, of the mechanical, physical and biodegradability properties of the bioplastics was evaluated. Isolation of MFC from bagasse done by using Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Chlorite extraction at 100 oC and room temperature for 3 hours. which is then using Disk Refiner as much as 7 times the process. Bioplastics was synthesized at 916 rpm stirring speed, sorgum starch size 63 ?m and MFC size 10 ?m, total mixing time at water batch 60 minutes at 80C, stirring for 35 minutes, gelatinization temperature 95oC, and the drying temperature is 60oC for 8 hours. The best results in this study are tensile strength were 11.71 KPa in the ratio 7: 3 , Elongation at break were 32.85% 7: 3, modulus young were 26.56 Kpa at the ratio 8: 2, and bioplastic density were 0.802 (gr / ml) on the ratio 6: 4. Bioplastic films that have been created can be degraded between 14-28 days. However, the value of tensile strength, elongation at break, modulus young, and density is not yet resembled a commercial plastic LDPE as a plastic bag.
