Abstract

It has been realized an distillation device of sea waterby using solar energy. Sea water putted in the distillation room and being heated by solar radiation so that heat transfer, evaporation and condensation process can take place. In this study wasused corrugated plate absorber with the method used is the sea level in the distillation equipment is always the same so that it will retain heat for the evaporation process in obtaining the capacity of clean water produced with variations of height 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 , and 14 cms. In addition, the distillation roof is made of transparent acrylic material with a slope of 45. The results showed that the increase of water temperature (TW) and evaporation temperature (Te) is bigger than environmental temperature (TL) and cover (TC) so that there is evaporation and condensation process so that the distillate water is obtained. Based on sea level, the volume of distillation water mostly occurred at sea water level of 2 cm that is 0,355 liter with salinity 0o/oo and efficiency equal to 48,07%.
